About Kate
Kate Glasheen is an experienced actor, voiceover artist, and certified professional Co-Active coach, specializing in voice and dialect coaching. She holds an MFA in Voice from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and serves as the Head of the BFA Acting program at Texas State University.
Kate's coaching philosophy centers on nurturing the "whole actor," emphasizing the integration of voice, speech, and dialect work to enhance authentic performance. Her approach is holistic, aiming to align an actor's vocal abilities with their physical and emotional expression. This comprehensive method ensures that actors can deliver performances that are both technically proficient and deeply connected to their characters.
In addition to her coaching, Kate is an accomplished performer and voiceover artist, bringing practical industry experience to her teaching. She is a certified Vocal Combat Technique instructor and also a practitioner of Emotional Effector Patterns, a somatic approach that explores the connection between emotions and physiological responses, further contributing to her holistic coaching style. Through her multifaceted expertise and commitment to comprehensive actor development, Kate Glasheen empowers performers to achieve vocal excellence and authentic expression, embodying her philosophy of supporting the whole actor.
